Introduction

The following documentation presents the elements and attributes used to describe specific detector components of the ATLAS Muon Spectrometer. The names are specific to the AGDD descriptions. However, as there is currently a one-to-one mapping between AGDD and AMDB, the documentation is useful for understanding the AMDB.

The Elements


FEE

Element of type FEE. Contains the complete description of the ATLAS Detector Feet. It comprises 9 elements of type composition multi-positioned in z : 7 FEE_Inner plus 2 FEE_Last.

Lateral Plate status

The description of the Lateral Plates in not completed, as shown in this image. All the necessary primary numbers are already in FEE.xml file, it is only needed new code in FEE:expandLateralPlate() method to describe the bottom lateral plate, for a more complete description of its parameters look here.

The AMDB description has not been strictly followed: in particular the AMDB polygons, to which these parameters are referred, have been substituted with tubes.

Comparison with layout p.03

To implement the geometry layout p.03 modify "rail box" dimensions and add new element BRIDGE to be placed along z axis between two adjacent feet.
